This is a resource pack made for Stencyl that adds a variety of standalone behaviors to your game. These come from helping users in Stencyl's discord server, as well as programming experiments with no unifying theme to them.

This is more of an experimental resource pack, in which use cases are not immediatelly apparent. Read the documentation and see if you can make use of them.

These are the available behaviors:

  1. Actor States: configure several states your actor can be in, based on a finit state machine.
  2. Dissolve Actor: configure ways your actors can "dissolve" on a per-pixel basis. Works better on desktop targets.
  3. Global Custom Blocks: a collection of custom blocks with several functionalities, such as external file management, multiple save files, detecting other games' save files, loading .json files and more.
  4. Road Check: checks if a point is within a "road", given two other control points.
  5. Mouse Grab Front Actor: lets the player grab an actor with the mouse, obeying drawing order. More precision on desktop targets.
  6. New Actor Effects: adds new actor effects through openFL code. Might have inconsistent results across platforms.
  7. Scene Movement: simulate CPU controlled actors moving between scenes over time.
  8. Simulated Actors: create actor simulations, which can be used to achieve a larger number of entities on screen with lesser performance impact.

If you want to see some of the possibilities of this resource pack, you can play the HTML5 version of the sample game on this page.

This pack comes with a sample game you can import into Stencyl, in which you can see how each actor is configured, as well as a comprehensive documentation file.

This is compatible with all my other resource packs.

Happy Sencyling!
